THREE-PLUNGER CRANK PUMPING UNITS AND PUMPS

Usage

The ПТ and T three-plunger crank units and pumps are designed to pump both neutral liquids and aggressive liquids,which are neutral to the materials of the hydraulic portion, with the kinematic viscosity of not more than 800 mm2/sec (8 St) at a temperature, depending on the make, of 243 К to 473 К (minus 30 °C to plus 200 °С).

The allowed level of nonabrasive solid particles in the pumped fluid is not more than 0.2% w/w; the allowed particle size is not more than 0.2 mm. These pumps and units are used in operations that require use of high pressures including explosion-and fire-risk ones (for instance, hydraulic cleaning of manufacturing equipment). They are also used as feeding pumps in movable steam-generating plants.

Design

The triple-plunger crank pumping unit consists of anelectric motor and a pump installed on the common frame. The pumps may also be driven by an internal combustion engine or a diesel engine. The motor may be connected to the pump by means of a Vbelt drive, via a reducer or directly via a coupling.

The triple-plunger pump consists of a drive portion and a hydraulic portion. The drive portion comprises a crankshaft to convert the rotary movement of engine to the reciprocating motion of the plungers.

The hydraulic portion consists of a hydraulic unit, plungers, seals, suction valves and discharge valves, and a pressure-relief valve. The pressure-relief valve is set to the rated service pressure and, whenever required, may be adjusted to another pressure.

The pumping units may be connected to devices that control the motor rotational speed.

Designation

An example of designation of a pumping unit:

where:

2.3 is the pump size depending on loads applied to actuators, on specific speed, and on drive portion dimensions (1.1; 1.2; 1.3; and 2.3);

ПТ is the pumping unit type by the design of the drive portion (with built-in (added-on) reducer—Т; with no built-in reducer — ПТ);

1 is the delivery of the pumping unit (m3/h);

40 is the outlet pressure of the pump (MPa);

Д is the hydraulic portion material (type 20Х13 or type 40Х13 chromium steels — Д; type 12Х18Н10Т chromium-nickel steel — K);

1 is the hydraulic portion design (without cooling (heating) of the hydraulic portion, with feeding of a liquid lubricant or coolant to the seal -1; without cooling
(heating) of the hydraulic portion, with feeding of a liquid lubricant, a liquid coolant, a flushing fluid, or a hydraulic lock liquid to the seal  2; with cooling (heating) of the hydraulic portion, with feeding of a liquid lubricant, a liquid coolant, a flushing fluid, or a hydraulic lock liquid to the seal -4);

А is the make of the unit by explosion-proof class of the electric motor (general industrial purpose motor — A; explosion-proof motor — B);

3 is the make by the pump to motor connection (by means of a V-belt drive —1; via a reducer —2; directly via a coupling — 3);

У is the climatic version (У, Т, УХЛ);

3 is the arrangement category (2, 3, 4);

ТУ У 3.19-05785454-025-95 is the reference of the technical specification by which the pump is manufactured.

Based on the pumps of ПТ and Т type, the УН, УПГ, and УПГД plants are manufactured.
